Procore Sync for Multiple Issue Types

The Procore Observation Categories and Types can be synced with those in Facility Grid. In addition to Commissioning type, other Observation types in Procore can be mapped and configured to synchronize with the user defined set of Issue Types in Facility Grid.  Once configured, users can create and update Issues of various types in either Facility Grid or Procore and those Issues will be synchronized between the two applications and properly categorized.  This ensures that the project issue log is a single source of truth in terms of content and categorization for companies that utilize both Procore and Facility Grid.

As a prerequisite for these instructions, you must have successfully connected to a Procore project and run setup on the synchronization process. Please refer to this document for details on setting up the connection and performing setup: https://facilitygrid.net/inquire/help/docs/setting-up-facility-grid-issues-log-synchronization-with-procore/

Issue Categories #

In Project Settings > Issue Categories, you will see a list of the categories available to you in Facility Grid. In addition, any categories that only exist in Procore will appear here subject to your license. Our Cx offering includes Commissiong category and our OR offering will support various categories in addition to Commissioning.

Because we support a set of commingled categories between Procore and Facility Grid, we offer an Alias field to allow for customization of the category labels in Facility Grid while continuing to map to the underlying designated Procore category.

The synchronization is configured on the Issue Types tab which we will cover next.

Issue Types #

In Project Settings > Issue Types, you will see a list of the Issue Types that you have configured in Facility Grid plus any additional types that have been imported from Procore.

Because we support a set of commingled types between Procore and Facility Grid, we offer an Alias field to allow for customization of the Issue type labels in Facility Grid while continuing to map to the underlying designated Procore observation type.

The Sync with Procore field displays the sync status for the Issue Types.

Only types that exist in Procore can be synchronized. As such, when viewing the list of Issue Types, it is helpful to understand each type and it’s capability.

Synchronization #

When turning any sync ON, the following confirmation message will be displayed:

Turning the synchronization ON for this type will pull data from Procore and treat it as the latest. Issues that were previously synced might be overwritten if the content differs in Procore.

When turning any sync OFF, the following confirmation message will be displayed:

Turning the synchronization OFF for this type will stop syncing. If turned back on later, existing Issues of this type might be overwritten if their content differs in Procore.
